The human species has been around for over 2.5 million years. It was not until around 10,000 years ago, after the Agricultural Revolution, that we began consuming Neolithic foods such as grains, legumes and dairy.

Upon introduction of these items into our food supply, our health immediately declined. The rates of bone malformations, dental cavities, nutrient deficiencies, and infant mortality all rose as our physical stature diminished. Anthropologists tell us it takes over 40,000 years for a species to evolve to its new environment, suggesting we are not yet genetically equipped to eat these foods.


The Problem

Grains, legumes, and dairy can wreak havoc on your entire body. Grains and dairy not only spike insulin levels, but along with legumes can be gut irritating and destroy the gut lining—an alarming thought given that most of our immune system resides in the gut.

Grains contain harmful proteins, which can severely compromise the integrity of the gut by allowing these almost entirely intact proteins to enter your bloodstream along with foreign pathogens and unwanted food particles.

One such problematic protein found in some grains is a prolamin called gluten. These complex proteins can stimulate an immune reaction that leads to inflammation. If this situation continues it may lead to autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis and be the entry point for chronic disease to set in.



The Solution

Avoid grains (especially gluten-containing grains), legumes, and conventional dairy. If you do consume gluten-free grains or legumes, learn how to properly prepare them in order to minimize the gut irritating properties.




Don’t worry about making any drastic changes to your diet at this moment. The intention is to bring some awareness to a few of the key issues that are compromising our health as a collective whole.

Take some time to reflect on the information presented here. You don’t have to have it all figured out!

Write down everything you put in your mouth, including the oils you cook your food with and beverages. We find it is VERY helpful to make people write down what they are eating.
